My swim with Sea Turtles

So just a quick update that I am now back from Vacationing in Maui.  Regular store hours resume.

Below are some photos of me snorkeling with Hawai'in Sea Turtles.  The condo that we rented for the week was right on the beach and there were about 7-8 Giant turtles that gathered there for the shallow water that grew the algae on rocks that they fed on.  Gentle Giant Creatures.  A very memorable experience, hope you enjoy the pics.

Kreativ-e.com

Hi All,

Just wanted to share with you this new site that Eugene has started up.  As many of you know already, Eugene was the driving force behind O.C. custom and design.  After completing his post graduate schooling, Eugene left us to start his own design company.  Along with it, he stared up this great site:

http://www.kreativ-e.com/

Eugene is still involved with O.C. in limited capacity and will periodically do objective reviews on new products that we get in.

Please check out his new site.

Cheers,

Paul

Sweet lil' Gem

So last week, March 1st I took shipment of 2 amazing Gem Tangs.  One was sold off right away and I never really got a chance to take media shots of it.  It arrived to it's new home yesterday March 8 and immediately began to eat pellets after being unbagged.

I have one gorgeous 6" Gem Tang available at the store and it is eating pellets and PE mysis with vigor.  If any of you have come into our store, you would have undoubtedly met my 8" Gem and he's the most amazing, super docile fish.

Please email me if you are interested in owning one of these "holy grail" of tangs.

Below is a short video I made on him eating pellets and residing in our sps tank.

Thanks for looking and please come pay us a visit soon.

Cheers,

Paul

Oceanic Corals vs Canreef

Well, it's been quite a long time since I've last updated this blog.  We've been growing by strides and I apologize for not keeping up with the updates.

Many of our followers may notice that Oceanic Corals is no longer a sponsor on Canreef, and I just want to assure every one that my time on Canreef was amazing and that I have nothing but good things to say about the site owner and the staff moderating it.  They are all great people.

I did decide to depart Canreef because of all the negative attention that was given to us by other members and competing stores about my corals and their origins.  ie CITES etc.  No matter how I defended myself, too often as well, I was never able to shake off the negative snide remarks that were thrown in my way.  After two years of enduring this childish behavior, I concluded that it was in my business' best interest to not be present on Canreef.  That's why I you didn't see me posting much on there as a result.

So, having said all that; I do commend the moderators there for doing a wonderful job when they were able to and Canreef is a great educational tool as well as a research center for endless reef materials.  I will be lurking in the background as always and will contribute when I can without commercial interest.

This Blog will now be updated more frequently as it is now our primary means of communicating with you all, our loyal customers.  So please spread the word that we are now back on this blog page.

Thank you so much for all you continued support and I look forward to bringing in more quality livestock for you to add to your collections.

Cheers and we'll see you soon.

Paul Ly
